“I love the part where he says, his sister would take me out to the beach, because my brother will take me to the beach too, once he gets his license.”

Max: My grandpa has a lot of passions now. For example, he's a beekeeper, he plants, he does a little bit of real estate. But I wonder what his life was or his passions was when he was young.

Grandpa: My sister would take me out in the carriage. She would take me to the beach, with her friends.

Max: I love the part where he says, his sister would take me out to the beach, because my brother will, will take me to the beach too, once he gets his license.

So, what was your favorite memory with your um… sisters, you said you spent a lot of time with them.

Grandpa: My sisters, some of my favorite memories was watching TV when we first got to television in 1949, and we’d sit on the floor in the living room and eat cheese [laughs].

Max: I love this clip because, he spends time with his family and with his sisters and spends a lot of quality time, and I also do that with my brother and my sister. Like I played, I played basketball with my brother sometimes, and me and my sister go on the trampoline.

Grandpa: We had channel four, we had channel seven, and we had channel nine. Living in Brooklyn—

Max: So you had to—did you have to wait for, like, a time?

Grandpa: You had to wait for a time, because the television wasn't on, and they had a, um… screen display, ok, when it wasn't—and there was no broadcasting, and it was an Indian head. And the TV was twelve inches.

Max: I wonder like, what watching TV and spending time with his sister has anything to do with what motivated him to work. Or what job he had.

Grandpa: I majored in television direction and production. I ran cameras, I did the news. This is for the, this is for Brooklyn college. And I just saw a movie called the Gemini Man. The last scene in the Gemini Man takes place at Brooklyn college. I recognize that the… the quadrangle. It's funny. But that's where I, that's where I first learned about computers and computerized technology.

Max: So that was—it was new to you?

After hearing the story, it was cool to find out how my grandpa worked at Apple since he's one of the first people to work there. But, after I heard it, I found it really cool because, I always wondered how my grandpa worked at Apple.

And now I know.

My grandpa also does real estate.

Grandpa: Yeah, but I do that as a, uh, as a…

Max: Side job?

Grandpa: Yeah. If somebody comes to me and really, really wants to use my services to go ahead and sell their house or building or whatever…

Max: After hearing you did, um, real estate, I also want to do real estate when I grow up so I can relate to him, but also it runs in the family cause my dad and my grandma both do it.

Just like my grandpa had passion for the things he'd done and the jobs he had, I also have passion for the things I do. But, I don't know what I'm going to be like when I grow up. But I do know I have passion for the things I love for right now. For example, I love math, I love sports, and the other things I have passion for, for example, those, I always work hard, and I'm determined to do them.
